Public Money for Public Schools
Iowa will spend over $315 million dollars on private school vouchers this year. Meanwhile, our public schools receive annual funding increases below the level of inflation. Additional oversight for private schools is needed to level the playing field, and income limits should be placed on the educational savings accounts.

Rural Healthcare
Iowa is ranked 51st for OB-GYNs per capita, 44th for physicians, and has many rural hospitals at risk of closing. To combat this, we must rollback the privatization of Medicaid, invest in rural health centers, and prioritize programs that emphasize preventative care and screenings for all Iowans.

Clean Up Our Water
I support the Iowa Healthy Water Act, which invests in clean water by expanding statewide water monitoring, tripling funding for proven conservation practices, and creating financial incentives for farmers who reduce runoff. It also provides zero-interest loans for precision agriculture and other technologies that help protect Iowa’s water. I also support holding polluters legally and financially responsible for their damage.

Cancer Crisis
Cancer is ravaging our state. We are ranked #2 for cancer and #1 for new cancer diagnoses. It's time we ask the hard questions and hold ourselves accountable for protecting public health by investing in cancer research, prevention, and care and getting to the bottom of its origins.

Private Property Rights
The Iowa Legislature fumbled the ball this session and did not pass any meaningful legislation that would protect property owners' rights against private corporations' attempts to seize land through eminent domain. The longterm precedent this sets is dangerous, and legislation must be enacted to curb this practice.

Fair Wages
Every worker deserves to earn a living wage.  It's time to raise the minimum wage.

Restore Public Sector Collective Bargaining
In 2017, Chapter 20 bargaining rights were gutted and limited most public sector unions to wage negotiations only. Our hard working public servants deserve to have actual input in their workplace environments and working conditions.
