People like to say, "The system is broken," but Benjamin pushes back against this notion. The system isn't broken, it was designed to work this way. Everything that happens is a direct result of our actions or inactions as well as the actions and inactions of those before us.

If we really want to see a better Iowa, we have to stop putting band-aids on our systemic "symptoms" and start addressing the systemic root causes, regardless of personal ideology and political party affiliation.
